Japanese gice... srsly wtf

So during my stay in Stony Brook I've noticed some weird trends around the campus. I frequently saw some Asian gice wearing purses or "manbags". I found that pretty disturbing because it looks disgusting and I immediately deemed them fags. Of course, most of them were Japanese/Korean but who can tell the difference unless they're Asian? The point is... I think it is giving Asian guys a bad name in general. I was eating lunch and this fag walked by with a purse and several white guys were laughing their asses off, obviously at the effeminate appearance of the guy. First of all, the god damn guy dressed like a fag in the first place (V cut shirt, skinny jeans), but to top it off, he had a GOD DAMN PURSE. I cannot stress this enough. What the hell is wrong with these people? What the hell happened to social norms?

Japanese people continue to reshape the norm...

According to the article, everyone in Japan has these things. It disgusts me. Thankfully in America, the land of homophobics, this sort of retarded trend will never take over. Just because a trend is going on in Japan, people conform to it. Do they even stop to think how stupid they look?

And whats up with girls liking this sort of crap anyway? A few of my Asian female friends were watching some videos on Youtube and they were squealing at some really girly guys...

Anyway the point is, I think this kinda stuff is mad retarded, go conservatives, down with new weird stuff.

The Economy again

I found this in my friend's AIM profile. I found this pretty interesting. Obviously something is wrong with the economy. But will dumping trillions of dollars into Wall Street help ease the problems? The truth is no one knows. Every economic crisis is a new scenario in which the ailment is yet to be found.

The Great Recession is still going strong (it has been 16 or 17 months so far).

Some issues with America

I read something interesting that relates to sociology. I found it pretty interesting so I’m going to sum up the main ideas of the article. The title of the piece is called “What is wrong with America and can anything be done about it?” It’s a fairly conservative observation about current trends and such.

1. America has institutionalized selfishness. People look out for only themselves and for their own self interest.

2. Work ethics in America is downright low. People who are motivated to work are put down by their colleagues because they don’t want to have to meet expectations set by the more productive workers. Hence work has become really slow and inefficient. Productivity is low and services are lacking.

3. Marriage is a dying institution. Many people live together without marriage. Perhaps they are afraid of commitment? Or perhaps people are always looking for someone better? And for those who are in marriages, how many will actually last? The divorce rate in this country is phenomenal.

4. People take things to lawsuit all the time, and sue for unreasonable amounts of money.

5. The current education system is lacking. Kids these days sit in the classroom and waste their time. They used to have corporal punishment, hitting kids on the hand trained discipline. Nowadays teachers do not dare to lay a finger on the youngins, not even the parents for fear that child protection laws would take their children away. Kids grow up realizing they learned little to nothing in school and have no respect for teachers.

6. The family is a very narrow concept these days. Parents are usually too busy with their work to take care of their kids. Kids grow up to be extremely independent. The idea of taking care of the parents when they become elderly is looked on as a burden. When kids turn 18 the first thing they do is cheer because they can finally move away from their family and start their independent lives. Kids merely depend on the parent for economic reasons and what of the family values?

Stupid phrase

"I could care less".

Fucking Americanisms. How does that make sense at all? If you're saying you could care less then obviously you don't completely NOT care, which is the whole purpose of the phrase "I couldn't care less", which implies that the amount you care is so small that it's impossible for it to be less.

Is it supposed to be sarcastic or something? Even if it was it still barely makes sense and defies common logic of just saying "I couldn't care less".

I have issues

Some people say the first step in solving a problem is to admit you have a problem. Well here it is! I have anger management issues. I guess it's a trait I got from my dad, to have a short temper. It's a really bad characteristic to have... I get frustrated too easily and it will most likely cause my downfall.

I have a tendency to snap in a heart beat and that kind of impulsive nature is not good to have. There is no question that stress and frustration is the source of my Bruxism. I really need to change this way of life and stop being so angry for trivial matters...

Interconnected subjects

Learning Macro and Sociology together somewhat sparked some thoughts. According to my Macro Prof., the economy is in the biggest recession ever. Laissez Faire economics wasn't helping the economy during the Great Depression and the government had to get involved to save it. According to the words of Karl Marx, he said that capitalism would eventually crumble because it was a flawed system, that Laissez Faire economics would fail. The government had to step in and pretty much save capitalism from dying, and they are doing the same thing right now. With all of these bailouts... the government is dumping trillions into the market trying to ease the economic crisis with our tax payers' money. This is what Marx predicted, that the bourgeoisie exploit the working class.

Well what the hell am I trying to say anyway? The point is, the economy is in the shit right now. No one knows how to fix our current economic problem because it has never happened before. People aren't spending their money like they used to. People are afraid to spend money. The current unemployment rate is above 7%. The stock market has been down for more than 45% since last summer. After reading what Marx had to say, some of the things he predicted sounds reasonable, but it is far too idealistic to ever come true. I wonder how our economy will stand in the future, will it really crumble?
